O.K. bare with me I just took my carbs off , I let the gas flow out of the over flow lines that I assume there was gas in the bowls cause alot of gas came out , but in the gas there was a white oily sludge in it what is this ? It obviously needs to be cleaned. This takes me to my next problem I cant get the screws off of the bowl it's like there seized on any tricks as to how to get them off ?

This is very important! Make absolutely sure your phillips screw driver fits the screws very tightly or you will strip them. They are usually quite tight but as soon as they break loose you can take them out with your fingers.I have stripped them before and have used vise grips to loosen them or used a hack saw blade to turn the stripped phillips head into a straight slot.

They suck getting out. Grab all the phillip heads you got to see what one fits best. I also had to use small vise grips after stripping one. Dremel or pencil grinder work great for cutting a slot if the vise grips don't work. Saw blade will work too if you don't have these(as mentioned above) Sounds like you might have to pull you tank if you have sludge crap in it. Change the fuel filter and clean out the gas lines if possible. Or change them.

before you go cutting the screw heads get your self a impact screw driver it comes with a slot bit & a phillip bit .A slight tap with a hammer will back the screws right off.... good luck

Same idea, but if you don't have access to an impact driver then get the best fitting screwdriver you have and tap the head of it while exerting counterclockwise
pressure. Same basic thing, but be forewarned it will probably void any warranty the tool has.

i use visegrips on the stripped bolts on my carbs, then once the bowls are off take out every little jet and blow compressed air through every hole you can find, and make sure you clean off all the littlee jets as well too............

I would suspect water in your gas tank! In my experiences when ever there is water mixed in with oil it turns to a milky white color! Clean out that fuel tank which probably has water in it and clean out all fuel lines, carbs, Make sure there our no cracks in the top of fuel tank or the gas cap where water can get in.... Good luck!!! :)

I used to work at a marina during the summer, and if the lowerunits leaked and water got into the gearcase oil, it turned a milky white. The white in your carbs is probobly water in the oil. Check your oil tank as well as the gas and make sure that there isn't any white on the bottom of it, or in the lines.
